Traffic Exchanges and Safelists, do you love or hate them?

If you are anything like me, then you’ll answer to both sides of the equation. They serve a more than useful purpose and, in my case, are a definite help in both ranking and list-building.

However, there are times when I get so mad I come close to throwing my [expletives deleted] computer through the nearest window. I know you’ve been there as well, so allow me to explain.

There I am clicking credit links and waiting the agreed number of seconds to receive credit, and then… here we go with the whinge… I hit the X and, in most cases, that’s it BUT in some instances [on the increase] it’s pop-up time and three clicks to get the credit is, in my opinion, out of order.

I only use splash or squeeze/landing/lead-capture pages – I’ve always believed in the KISS principle. Doing it right you agree not to use frame breakers so, why not ban pop-ups and exit pages. That way is fair for all.

Right! I’m done here but what’s your take on the subject – is it that too many users are selfish and thoughtless or are the site operators getting it wrong?
